Chevelle Concert at the Black Sheep in Colorado Springs on Thursday
September 22nd, 2007 Posted in MusicI have to say the Chevelle concert at the Black Sheep in Colorado Springs was pretty sweet; I am very glad I purchased the very last ticket on TicketWeb.com for the sold out show. It was not a large concert by any means, but I personally enjoy the more intimate concerts. It was a sold out show so for the venue, and it was a good crowd. The opening band, Elision (a local band), was good, but the other opening band that was actually touring with Chevelle, Tyler Read, sucked big time. Talk about a bunch of long haired, white trash looking dudes. They tried a little too hard to rock, and it just wasn’t working for them. Maybe some more refined music and you won’t suck so much. I think Chevelle should pick Elision to tour with them since Elision actually rocked without trying so hard.
As for the main show, Chevelle rocked it and got the mosh pit going so it was a good concert. I was about 5-10 feet from the stage; at one time, I could reach out and touch the bassist. If you are into Chevelle at all, they put on a good show and you will not be disappointed. If I did not already have plans the week they are in Boulder, I would probably cruise up to see them again there; it was that good. I could use another hot, sweaty, ear-deafening experience again from Chevelle; especially since they will be with Fair to Midland and Black Burns (that is the gossip at least).
Hope Chevelle comes back through Colorado Springs in the near future again because I will definitely be there near the front and I hope you come check them out as well. Props to Black Sheep and Soda Jerk for bringing them in, along with the other numerous concerts they setup in that venue.
Have a good rest of the weekend and peace in the Middle East.
