Why the Big 12 Might Go From 3 Possible Title Shots to 0
November 18th, 2007 Posted in SportsWith the upset of Oklahoma by Texas Tech (not as much of a shock as some think), this has really screwed the Big 12 from a BCS birth because they are probably going to beat each other into minor Bowl games. At the beginning of the week, the Big 12 was in perfect position to have possible 3 teams fighting for a BCS birth, but that hope was dashed when Oklahoma lost. With this loss, Oklahoma falls out of the race. Kansas and Missouri play each other next week to see who plays Oklahoma for the Big 12 title. Once they have decided this, Oklahoma will probably knock off the winner in the Big 12 Championship. This is why the league championships need to be in all leagues or not at all, but that is another argument for another day.
This will put the Big 12 from 3 possibilities to 0 since all teams will probably fall below West Virginia. In this season of upsets and wackiness, this has to be close to the culmination of the wacky season. If I had to put money in Vegas right now for the BCS championship, I would put my money on LSU and West Virginia. Think about it and have a great NFL Sunday. Peace.
